Elizabeth L.F.’s Tale of the Sole: Trippen love in the Haight!

March 7th, 2014

Ped fans, we often tell you that if you buy one pair of Trippen shoes, you’re more than likely to develop an addiction! The designs coming out of Berlin are just so edgy-cool and deliciously comfortable! But don’t take our word for it—take Elizabeth L.F.’s! Here’s her happy Tale of the Sole:

I wanted to let you know I’m thrilled with all my Trippens purchased through Ped. They are the ultimate in comfort for a middle-aged kindergarten teacher with wonky ankles, high arches, and a concrete sub-floor. I live in the Haight, and I walk everywhere. Over the past few years I’ve had lots of problems with my feet, and with Trippen shoes, I know I can walk across town or through the park, and my feet will be fine.

My Viviennes are the queen bees of the collection. They come out when I want to look as cute as my girls and still be able to catch up with them on the playground. (My best friend still loves her Viv’s after 14 years!)

Lucky students to have a kindergarten teacher who wears fun shoes like the Trippen Vivienne!

My dark blue Todi’s are fantastic for roughing it in the garden, but they’re still super stylish.

Ha ha! We love the way Elizabeth styled this photo of her cute Trippen Todi!

My red Cage’s are my casual favorite—again, amazingly cool-looking and incredibly comfortable.

In December I ordered the Diesel in dark brown. Best booties ever! I ordered a few days before Christmas, and my boots arrived right on time, despite the holiday. They are truly the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever put on my feet–right out of the box. I’ve walked miles in them already (through Golden Gate Park, from my house in the Haight out to the Richmond)!

The Trippen Diesel are ready to take Elizabeth out and about in San Francisco.

I also have to say, Dayna, your help on the phone or by email is always invaluable. Thank you so much for providing such great quality shoes and such fantastic service. I’ll be teaching, playing, and walking with happy feet in my Trippens.

Thanks for sharing your Trippen love with us, Elizabeth! We’re all smiles at Ped HQ after reading your Tale!

To show our appreciation, we’re giving Elizabeth L.F. $100 in Ped credit! (We’re pretty sure we know what line she’ll buy…)

Do you have a Tale of the Sole? Tell us—and show us (we LOVE pictures!!!)—what happened to you while wearing something from Ped, and you, too, might be the recipient of $100 in Ped credit. We’d love to share your sole-ful story on the blog, so let us know what in the world you’ve been doing in your Ped!

Swing the shift!

March 2nd, 2014

It’s a new month, Ped fans, and we are beyond ready for the official start of spring in a few weeks! But looking at forecasts across the board, winter is not quite done with its chilly ways. So, what to wear?

Well, up top, we leave it to you to figure out the right mix of cashmere and cotton, coats and cardigans, but down on the ground, have no worries! Ped has the seasonal transition question solved in a bunch of stylish ways!

Behold shoes that let you air out the differences between winter and spring!

We love oxfords, but after the long slog through cold weather, we wish we could open them up a little! Pep Monjo to the rescue! Check out Pep’s new Lila lace-up:

Ta da! Perfect with socks or tights when the snow has melted but the grass is not yet green, the Lila is also ideal barefoot when the garden is in full bloom!

Mr. Monjo also works his design magic at Argila, where he has us wowed with another aired-out oxford, the Pilar:

So much charm for one easy-going shoe! We especially like the rounded stacked-leather heel, black leather piping at the seams, and sweet cutouts by the heel and over the toe!

If you prefer a lace-up that’s less traditional, then feast your eyes (and feet) on the air-conditioned Trippen Chill:

Crafted from twice-dyed leather that’s black on one side and white on the other, the Chill leaves no grey area—it’s simply the coolest shoe to stroll down the street! Über-edgy and über-fun!

Oxford-esque shoes aren’t the only way to swing into spring. The Argila Arianna offers a breezy buckled option:

Isn’t that caramel leather delicious? The Arianna offers the same winning ways as the Pilar above, but in a t-strap design that we adore!

Perhaps you flip for a zip? Then do a back flip for the back-zippered Trippen Skipper:

This strap-happy design just makes us smile! Saucy with socks and tights for the remaining chill days, the Skipper is ready and waiting to let your bare skin soak up the sun!

Looking for something more lady-like? Then let your femininity out to play in the cute-as-can-be Cydwoq South:

A true blue shoe to see you through the seasonal shift, the South features Rafi’s latest innovation: an easy ankle tie of leather petals! Sweet as an April breeze! (Wishing this design had a little height? You’re in luck! Check out the South’s well-heeled cousin, the Cydwoq Market!)

Of course, if you really want to spring into Spring, then set your sights on the Cydwoq Sight:

You don’t have to wait for May flowers when you can put the garden on your feet in March! The Sight gives your winter-weary dogs a literal and figurative breath of fresh air!

As always, there are even more ways to walk from winter into spring over at Ped’s main site. Remember change is good, especially when you’ve got the right shoes to let you swing the shift with ‘zazz!

(Psst, this week’s Sweet Treat is the Cliff Dweller Canoe, which just happens to be another terrific season spanner! Click “be sweet to your feet” at the bottom of the box on the left at Ped’s main site to reach the Canoe, and then simply pop it in your bag to instantly receive 20% off at checkout! Easy-peasy and oh-so breezy!)

Red boots are GO! (But in case you prefer brown, we have that, too!) Stellar at $458, they’re out of this world at $229!

Of course, the best remedy for the cold is nature’s insulator: fur! Consider cozying up to the fur-lined version of Fiorentini + Baker’s Emmy:

Look gorgeous AND have toasty toes! A treat at $648, it’s truly a treasure at $324!

We offer a be-furred version of Fiorentini + Baker’s Eliza oxford, too:

Talk about luxe! This beauty is so soft, you’ll have a hard time not constantly petting your shoes! Fantastic at $498, it’s beyond marvelous at $249!

Feel the fire of desire for something cozy and new? Well, we have plenty more bargains to spark your interest over at Ped’s main site! It’s the perfect time to treat yourself to something you ardently want without burning down your bank account!

(Psst, speaking of Fiorentini + Baker, this week’s Sweet Treat is F+B’s perennial favorite, the Emma Boot! Just click “be sweet to your feet” at the bottom of the box on the left of most Ped pages to arrive at the Emma, where all you have to do is pop it in your bag to receive 20% off at checkout!)

Peggy’s Tale of the Sole: 31 Days of Ped!

January 3rd, 2014

HAPPY NEW YEAR, Ped fans! Everyone here at Ped HQ hopes your 2014 is off to a fantastic start! Thanks to longtime Ped fan, Peggy R., ours certainly is!

Peggy’s Tale of the Sole is simply beyond wonderful to us—it’s like a giant hug sprinkled with sugar! Here is what she sent:

In 1998, I got my first pair of shoes from Ped, a pair of Giraudon oxfords, and I was immediately hooked on wearing cool shoes! Whenever we were in Seattle, we headed to Pioneer Square to visit Ped and, hopefully, make a purchase. There was just something about wearing great shoes that made me smile and feel so good! Once Dayna opened Ped online, it was hard to pass up the incredible styles. So…. I have a lot of fabulous shoes, handbags, and treasures from Ped!

Peggy R.'s first catalog from Ped! (We're so flattered she kept it.)

Peggy’s first catalog from Ped! (We’re so flattered she kept it.)

I decided this fall to document my Ped collection on a daily basis. The challenge was to wear a different pair of shoes or something that I had purchased from Ped for the entire month of December. I called it “The 31 days of Ped.”

The first 12 days of Peggy's "31 Days of Ped."

The first 12 days of Peggy’s “31 Days of Ped.”

Being a nurse, the workdays were a bit of a challenge—lots of Trippen, a few Cydwoq, and sometimes just my beautiful Antipast socks. Many of my coworkers, as well as patients and their family members, commented on my shoes. I’ve shared Ped with a lot of people!

Days 13-23 of Peggy's "31 Days of Ped."

Days 13-23 of Peggy’s “31 Days of Ped.”

On my off days, it was easier to wear my boots, heels and—thanks to the warm December we had in Sacramento—even a few of my sandals. And every day I smiled!

The final eight days of Peggy's "31 Days of Ped."

Dayna and I have had many conversations on the phone over the years. She knows what styles I’ll like and what shoes will fit my feet. I appreciate Ped’s quality and the incredible customer service—but mostly, I like knowing where to get the most fabulous shoes! Dayna has said to me, “Fashion starts with the feet.” And I believe it’s true! Thanks Ped for making me smile!

Oh, Peggy!!! Your smile can’t be any brighter than ours after reading your Tale of the Sole! THANK YOU for starting our new year off with a big burst of Ped love!

We’re delighted to give Peggy $100 in Ped credit as a small token of our HUGE appreciation!

Wrap up your gift list!

December 9th, 2013

Ped fans, you may not think of us as a “one-stop shop,” but if you have daughters, mothers, aunts, sisters, or simply female friends you want to make smile this season, we’re confident of the pleasing power of Ped presents! Here are just a few ideas to brighten your favorite gals’ holidays:

When you’re mystified by your recipient’s size, there’s no need to scratch your head. Simply give her something toasty to wrap around her neck, like Ben Alder’s Edinburgh Scarf:

Such stripe-tastic fun, this soft scarf is knit from the finest Scottish new wool! One size makes everyone look stylish! We’re in love with this smashing Blue/Lemon/Fuchsia version, but Ped also offers the Edinburgh in three other great color combinations!

Word to the wise gift giver: Ben Alder also knits wonderful striped gloves!

Make her fingers festive and protect them from frostbite! If purple and green don’t float her boat, perhaps Ben Alder’s other color combos will make her heart set sail.

As long as we’re keeping the extremities warm, let’s make sure the tootsies stay toasty! Socks can make a sensational present, especially when they come from Antipast:

Everything Antipast designs is like a party for your toes, but we are especially crazy about the Winter Skier Socks. They are so clever! Beneath a snowy sky of polka dots, a tiny skier whooshes down a mountain of stripes!

We also have a new kid on the sock block: Bonne Maison! Why not give your gal the gift of a garden walk with Bonne Maison’s Autumn Flower Knee High:

This carmine version makes our hearts sing, but perhaps the honey or aged green options are more in tune with your gal.

If you want to up the ante with heating things up, a Sophie Digard work of wearable art is an excellent way to express your affection.

Sophie’s hand-crocheted Cercle Pop Scarf, for instance, is guaranteed to thrill! When she’s not wearing this stunner, your lucky recipient may opt to keep it out where she can simply look at it!

Another gift every woman welcomes is a fantastic bag. Cydwoq offers beautiful ways to help her haul it all through the day!

We just got in two new versions of Cydwoq’s terrific Leather Market Sack! Isn’t this navy and rust argyle pattern to die for? (We’re adding it to our own wish list!) The olive herringbone option is equally gorgeous!

Of course, if you really want to “wow” her, something sparkly from Jamie Joseph is just the thing!

The gold and diamond treatment of Jamie Joseph’s 14kt Gold Organic Circle Necklace is a sure-fire way to kiss holiday doldrums and winter blues goodbye!

As always, there are more goodies at Ped’s main site, so let your stylish thoughts count as you spread the love!

By the way, if you want to make absolutely sure the women in your life will like their gifts, invite them to browse the Ped site and click “add to favorites” for whatever strikes their fancy. Once they’ve finished making selections, they can share the list with you via email. That way the pressure’s off, and happiness is on!

(Psst, the Sweet Treat this week, Sophie Digard’s Velvet Lune Scarf,  would make a fabulous gift, too, even if it’s just to deserving you! Simply click “be sweet to your feet” at the bottom of the box on the left at Ped’s main site. When you land at the Velvet Lune Scarf’s page, just pop it in your shopping bag to get 20% off!)
