Every season we go on and on about what geniuses the German designers at Trippen are, how amazing their leathers and craftsmanship are, and how they’ve really outdone themselves with the latest styles! But honestly, Ped fans, every season it’s TRUE!

This fall is no exception. When the latest Trippen boxes arrived at the Ped warehouse, every boot and shoe we unpacked had us shouting, “WOW!” Think we’re exaggerating? Please see for yourself:

Just when all the beautiful boots out there start to blur together, along comes Trippen to open our eyes to things utterly new and different! Consider the Wind:

WOW! Too cool for school (but feel free to wear them there anyway), this mid-calf boot’s blue-edged seams vine around the shaft, while a zipper zings up the back!

Like the seams but looking for something lower to the ground? Here’s a tasty temptation: the Trippen Oven:

WOW! Longtime Ped fans know if there’s one way to turn my head, it’s with a great green shoe! And the Oven keeps it turned with its seaming and saucy lace-up back!

Today we complete our transect through the boot paradise that is Ped. We wind things up on a high note with a duo of tall boots!

Fiorentini + Baker rises above the rest when it comes to knee-high boots. The Emma embodies why:

Streamlined and sophisticated, the Emma is one long stretch of luxurious Italian leather, punctuated perfectly by lacing at the top of the back (talk about form meeting function)! Ped fans, we’re gradually inching our way up the leg in our exploration of all things boot and beautiful! Today, we sample variations of a perennial favorite, the mid-calf boot. Neither short nor tall, like all good things (including porridge at the three bears’ house), it’s just right! Let’s take a look:

Cydwoq has elevated designing mid-calf boots into an artform! Truly, it’s their forte, as evidenced by the new Surgeon Boot:

The pewter leather treatment is stunning, especially in contrast with the cage-like overlay of matte brown (which you may remember from the Cydwoq Artisan, which we showed you a few days ago). But what makes Cydwoq mid-calf boots especially fantastic is the dip in back that comfortably accommodates a range of calf sizes!

The variety of boots this fall is virtually endless: flats, heels, wedges, lace-ups, buckle-straps, laceless, rugged, girly, rock ‘n’ roll, etc. Every woman can find one (or two or three) she wants, but wading through all the options can take quite a while.

Today’s installment focuses on ankle boots that are barely boots (they just made the height requirement to get on the coaster). Sometimes called “shooties” because they walk the fine line between shoes and booties, these designs may have short shafts, but they’re long on style!

Since we were singing the praises of Pep Monjo yesterday, let’s start with a sweetheart from the company he founded, the Argila Anna:

Like a femmed-up version of a motorcycle boot, the Anna charms with a perforated design over the toe and a supple front, pinked at the top and cinched into a loose ruffle by the buckle strap. Pretty and practical, this little boot goes with everything!

Another versatile beauty is Coclico’s Rilke:

We love the tie and tongue at the back—it’s always fun to give those behind you something to see! Plus, the Rilke is made of the softest grey suede imaginable!

Exquisitely crafted in Monjo’s hometown of Menorca, each pair is timeless, yet the designs walk the cutting edge of European style. Take a look, and prepare to fall in love!

One of Pep Monjo’s many talents is his ability to spice up vintage-inspired styles with just the right details. Exhibit A: the Edith Boot.

At first glance, these look like a treasured pair of boots discovered at an estate sale, but the fold-down collar in back and the exaggerated tongue in front give the Edith decidedly modern flair! (Go only halfway with the laces to get the latest European look!)
