Get your sass on with Ped’s winter sale

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Okay, so perhaps the twice-a-week blogging resolution was a bit ambitious, but I’m determined to move in that direction. The Holidays, however, left everyone at Ped HQ wanting to take a holiday! Fun times but quite exhausting. And since summer sandals are starting to arrive (stay tuned), we’re way over winter already and more in the mood for the beach. Out with cold-weather wares (no matter how gorgeous), and in with things better suited for green grass and flowers (and dining al fresco). So, with that in mind–ta da!–our annual winter sale is on, sisters! As always, those with larger or especially wee feet are more likely to strike gold (isn’t wearing super stylin’ shoes  the best revenge for all your brother’s teasing about the “boats” at the end of your legs?), but even size 38 gals will find things to love.

For instance, mid-season we re-ordered the gorgeous Chie Mihara Bas:

Which means we have quite a range of sizes on hand of this versatile and sexy Mary Jane, but we’ve taken a bit off the top of its price (an attractive trim).

Or consider Cydwoq’s cool Rugged Boot, one of our favorites of the fall season:

Granted, the rivets take a bit of time to do up, but what great impact this boot packs! Plus, it’s flat and comfortable without sacrificing its edge. And we’ve just smacked down the price by 25% !

If you prefer a more classic look, though, guess what? Fortune smiles upon you! As many of you know, we almost never put Fiorentini + Baker on sale, but being in the mood for spring cleaning–albeit, a little early–we thought, “Why not?” So, here’s your chance to buy the F+B Noon Boot without breaking the bank (and eating ramen for a month):

And there are plenty more delicious deals where those come from!

Gals, it’s time to re-boot.

As Ped’s summer sale continues (stock is getting low, so jump on it while you can), we’re getting in big boxes of what we love best: BOOTS!!! Ankle boots, in particular, are smokin’ hot this year, but there are also a lot of gorgeous tall and mid-calf boots ready to style up the pavement. Every day, a few new designs arrive, and I find myself wondering how to decide which to buy for myself. It is the best boot year ever! Here are just a few of my new BFFs–Boot Friends Forever (if I posted all the ones I love, though, I’d be here all day).

For sheer sizzle, Coclico is definitely cooking with gas. Last year, they brought us the stellar Mick (which we happily ordered again this season for any of you who missed it). This year, we’re swooning over the tall Obama:

and the ankle-height Ophelia:

We’ve also got a new line, NDC, a Belgian company that uses the loveliest leather to handcraft their footwear. Check out the gorgeous green Emily (you know us– we so love green…):

The Caitlin is another NDC style that’s captured Ped’s heart because it looks both badass and sophisticated all at once (kind of like the way I feel most days). And the suede is something else:

And, finally, I give you two Cydwoq Vintage styles because Rafi is really outdoing himself this season with the new heeled styles. This tall Pine Boot is a wonder of beautifully pieced-together leather (click through to Ped’s site and go to “Views” to see just what I mean–or just click “Views” there to the left or here– see how easy I made that for you?). I love that its neutral combination of grey and bronze goes with everything:

And, last but not least (and not even last since I haven’t gotten to Ped’s amazing collection of Fiorentini + Baker boots or our Trippen selection), it’s back to green for me with this sweet Solid Bootie, which is so, so sexy.

Normally, I don’t look forward to cold weather, but this year there are  not enough chilly days ahead to wear all the boots I want to put on my feet! The great thing about Ped’s boots, though is they’ll all look and feel just as good when they come out of the closet next year! Timeless quality–Ped’s committed to it.

Lions out! Lambs in!

Yes, it’s been toooooo long since I’ve posted a bit of Ped goodness here. But now that spring is springing, I feel fresh and ready to gambol about in the warm weather–in new shoes, of course! Here at Ped, we LOVE everything green. So, behold three of our favorite ways to show off the color that comes with spring.

First up, Chie Mihara’s seriously juicy Vespa. I ask you, could this shoe be any more glamorous? Besides the gorgeous color, I particularly love the slight curve to the heel.

But maybe you just want a run-around-town sandal that can take you from the dog park to the farmer’s market to the hammock on your porch for a little siesta. In that case, Cydwoq’s Fence is your perfect companion. I know we say it in every description, but the great thing about Cydwoq is every shoe molds to your foot and truly gets better the more you wear it.

Finally, if you’re feeling extra sassy (and you should be–why not? It’s spring already!), then Trippen has just the shoe to match your mood: the Donna. Ankle straps are going to be big this spring and summer, and Trippen gives them quite the European twist!

Step out in any of these shoes, and people are going to ooh and aah over your footwear. And a few might just be “green” with envy (quit groaning–spring makes me punchy!).

Brrr, it’s getting to be boot weather!

Okay, sure, Ped has relocated to sunny Santa Barbara, but that doesn’t mean I don’t remember how chilly November days are in other parts of the world. In fact, I kind of long to put away my flip-flops and slide my legs inside a beautiful pair of boots—that’s one of the best things about fall and winter. The boots come out of the closet and go out for a walk!

This season Ped has some truly spectacular boots in stock. (I went a little boot crazy at the shoe shows!) First up, we’re carrying a new line, Coclico, which has designed the boot I’ve wanted my whole life but didn’t find until now:

Let me tell you, this boot—the Mick—is made of the most wonderful leather that allows you to either scrunch it down or pull it up to full height, depending on your mood. It’s minimal, but its lines and spare details are perfectly executed.

Perhaps you prefer a super-sexy heeled number? Then Chie Mihara’s got you covered. How sizzling is this:

Zing! Zip Chie’s Zom up, and, instantly, you look like a million bucks!

On the other hand, you might be an earthier gal who likes a little Euro-style with your comfort. How about these beauties from Trippen then:

Oh, and lest we forget, we are so psyched that Cydwoq is venturing into making full-length boots. I was so wowed by this pair in the Vintage line that I had to have them for myself!

Flip-flops are seriously overrated!

Chi-Chi-Chie! (And Sophie!)

How I love Fall (even if it’s not quite the same in Southern Cal as it was in Seattle)!!! I adore when there’s a bit of a bite in the air, and nothing feels better than wrapping one of Sophie Digard’s soft and light wool scarves around my neck. How does she make crocheting so Parisian chic? Here’s one of my favorites from our latest shipment at Ped:

This Edelweiss Scarf is so striking. The way Sophie combines her fine wool yarns is beyond intricate. Whenever I wear one of her scarves, I love to just examine the details because I always find something I didn’t notice before. And her color combinations are to die for.

Meanwhile, Chie Mihara has a bevy of beauties in her Fall shoe line. Truly, you can’t go wrong with Chie, especially if you work in an office where you have to wear heels everyday. Even when her shoes rise 4″, they’re always comfortable because she really understands how to position a heel and pad a footbed for optimal pampering. I can stand for hours while in Chie’s without having my dogs bark for mercy. That’s saying something! This Ote lace-up is one of my faves this season due to its “sexy secretary” styling and gorgeous eggplant color:

And just for fun, check out the dazzling heel on Chie’s Oda:

How great would this beauty look walking amid fallen autumn leaves?? We love, we love.

Okay, more soon, as the temperature dips…
