Ped founder and California native Dayna has spent her life combining her passions for art, fashion, and business. Educated at UC Berkeley and the San Francisco Fashion Institute, Dayna worked in the fashion industry in New York City before moving to Seattle, where she opened famed clothing store Ardour in 1993, followed by shoe store Ped in 1998. Both businesses thrived and received national recognition in magazines and online sites, such as Lucky Magazine, InStyle, Harpers' Bazaar, and DailyCandy.com. Always a visionary, Dayna decided to close her brick-and-mortar business in 2006 and head back to California to focus solely on her online-only boutique, www.ped.com. Today Ped ships all over the world and enjoys a large international following of devoted customers.
The key to Ped's success is Dayna's unique sense of style and keen eye for design. She scours the international fashion markets looking for innovative shoe, bag and accessory designers who value timeless style with an eye to meticulous craftsmanship and ethical production. Dayna's joy in finding "the next thing" is complemented by her belief in offering great customer service. Often when you call or email Ped, Dayna will take care of you herself.
In addition to making Ped a unique and satisfying shopping experience, Dayna enjoys life in Lake Tahoe with her husband and revels in the outdoors, international travel, fashion, movies, good food and wine, and long walks with her dogs, Izzy and Mae. She also believes in supporting good causes, so each year Ped donates a portion of its proceeds to organizations such as UC Davis Veterinarian School, Bear League and Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care.
