Founded in 1998, Ped prides itself on carrying hard-to-find, unique, handmade shoes, handbags, jewelry, and other unusual treasures from all over the world. Ped's founder Dayna, educated at UC Berkeley and the Fashion Institute, has spent over 32 years in retail and the fashion industry, helping innumerable small designers and retailers achieve exposure and success.
At Ped, we don't chase fashion, and we don't follow trends. We choose styles we like and wear ourselves. The things we carry are timeless yet contemporary and are always handcrafted from the finest materials, often using centuries-old techniques that ensure items are of heirloom quality and can be passed from one generation to the next.
Here at Ped we talk about "price per wear." The shoes we carry will last a lifetime. They're literally handmade and can be worn and worn, and then worn some more. If and when they seem like they can go no further, a simple re-soling and treatment with a leather care product will give them new life.
So break out your pedometer and put us to the test! We guarantee you won't find a better price per wear. Anywhere.
In 2006, after eight years on First Ave. in the heart of downtown Seattle (preceeded by another eight for Ardour, Dayna's original clothing store), Ped closed the doors of its brick-and-mortar store in order to be reborn as PedShoes.com: the ultimate online boutique. After re-tooling our website to add e-commerce components, Ped reopened online with many of the same designers we've always carried, plus many more who were new to us and also new to the United States.
Ped carries more items as an online-only boutique than we ever did as a brick-and-mortar retail store. Yes, you can still find your favorite shoes, but now we have even more sizes and colors from which to choose. And with our expanded range of wonderful items, you'll probably stumble across something new and exciting that you didn't even realize you were looking for! So spice up your style, and put a little Ped in your life.
